GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Performs routine (journey-level) to moderately complex (journey-level) data analysis, and data research work. Work involves collecting, reviewing, analyzing, and furnishing water planning and water use data to regional water planning groups, the legislature, media, TWDB programs, and external stakeholders. Conducts QA/QC analyses, develops reports, thematic maps, visualizations, and interactive dashboards. Identifies innovative ways to improve, present, disseminate, and consume planning data. Assists with the development, administration, and maintenance of the Texas Water Service Boundary Viewer (TWSBV), regional and state water planning databases and associated online applications, and coordinates with Information Technology (IT) and program areas on future application development. Provides technical, GIS, mapping, and data support for regional and state water plans. Supports agency regional water planning staff. Develops and analyzes data content for regional water plans and the state water plan, and provides customer assistance to all users. Manages datasets and provides mapping solutions for regional and state water planning processes. May train others. Works under moderate to general supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Reports to the Manager of the Water Use and Planning Data (WUPD) Department.
