What 232 US Analyst Job Openings Reveal — September 2026

The Analyst Board reviewed 232 US analyst openings from 209 employers in its September 6, 2026 feed capture. The sample covers business-facing roles in data, finance, business analysis, business intelligence, marketing, revenue, operations and supply chain.

This is a dated snapshot of one curated job board, not a statistically representative estimate of the US labour market. It was captured before a further 21 listings were published later that day. Live counts and availability will change.

Operations and data roles lead this sample

Category Jobs Share
Operations & Supply Chain 44 19.0%
BI & Reporting 42 18.1%
Data Analytics 37 15.9%
Business Analysis 35 15.1%
Marketing & Customer Analytics 33 14.2%
Financial Analysis & FP&A 28 12.1%
Revenue & Sales Analytics 13 5.6%

Operations, BI and Data Analytics account for 123 openings, or 53.0% of the sample. Candidates can broaden their search to include planning, inventory, reporting, dashboards and operational decision-making.

Remote work is a smaller segment

Work mode Jobs Share
On-site 169 72.8%
Remote 32 13.8%
Hybrid 31 13.4%

Sixty-three jobs, or 27.2%, are recorded as Remote or Hybrid. Candidates looking exclusively for fully remote work have a smaller set of openings in this inventory. Check each employer's location and attendance requirements.

Just over half disclose pay

119 of the 232 jobs disclose at least part of a salary range: 51.3% of the sample. Missing pay should not be interpreted as low pay. Hourly and annual amounts are not combined into a salary estimate, and the board does not invent compensation to fill optional fields.

The title mix leans experienced

69 titles, or 29.7%, contain senior, lead, principal, manager, director or an equivalent abbreviation. Two explicitly signal junior, entry or associate level. These title keywords are imperfect indicators, so early-career candidates should also search by skills and responsibilities.

Tools mentioned in descriptions

Tool or system Jobs mentioning it Share
Excel 122 52.6%
SQL 85 36.6%
Power BI 65 28.0%
Tableau 51 22.0%
Python 38 16.4%
ERP 26 11.2%
Salesforce 24 10.3%
SAP 21 9.1%

These are literal mentions, not a complete skills taxonomy. A role may require spreadsheet, database or reporting skills without naming a product. A mention does not necessarily mean the tool is a mandatory requirement.

Use the findings in your search

  • Look beyond the title “data analyst” to operations, finance, business analysis, BI, marketing and revenue teams.
  • Check work mode and applicant-location restrictions before applying.
  • Compare duties and tools, especially when titles do not clearly signal experience level.
  • Use the employer's current application page to confirm availability.

Methodology and limits

The source is The Analyst Board's published feed captured on September 6, 2026, before the later publication batch. It contained 232 unique listings from 209 distinct stored employer names. Required backup fields were present, the preceding 31-job publication batch was retained, and no record had passed its recorded expiry at capture. This inventory check is not a same-day recheck of every employer's hiring status.

Each listing is counted once under its primary category and stored work mode. Salary disclosure means at least one salary-bound field is populated. Tool counts use case-insensitive whole-word matching after replacing HTML tags with spaces and decoding entities. Experienced-title signals are senior, sr, lead, principal, manager and director; early-career signals are junior, jr, entry and associate. These are keyword counts, not a full seniority classification.

The sample reflects our sourcing and curation choices. It does not measure total US demand, applicant competition or change over time. Availability can change after the capture date.
